Each of the paddle shafts in the Braca-sport kayak paddle range available as a service part. Note that shaft (and paddle blade receiver) diameters vary across the range and not all are interchangable. if you are planning to order a shaft other than the one currently fitted to your paddle, please contactus to confirm fitment. The current shaft in your paddle is identifiable by the code located on the right hand side of the clamp eg 2KAL, 19KAL etc The digits identify the shaft, the K denotes it is a kayak shaft, (Canoe discipline shafts are denoted by a C and available elsewhere in our store) and AL dentoes an adjustable shaft.
Information on the recommended shaft for your particular set of blades is available by finding the relevant paddle listing on our store, eg the Braca IV extra light listing will give the recommended shaft type for each of the blade sizes available for that model.
Shaft diameters
Not all Braca shafts are interchangeable with all blades, some models require the shaft to be fitted over the blade collar, while for most models the shaft fits inside the blade collar.
Shaft diameters are either 28 or 29mm depedning on the model so fitting a 28mm shaft to a 29mm collar (eg 21kal shaft on a Braca IV or Braca XI) will require a set of carbon spacers to be fitted to the shaft prior to fitting the blades.
